True family histories:
A "Paintover" workshop"
"Paintover" means painting on top of photocopies. Change your family's narrative by painting on top of photocopied image(s) from your family album combining collage images.
You might want your loved ones flying to the moon. Or perhaps take part in a circus. Maybe grandma wants to be part robot. Or fly without wings over a town like in a Marc Chagall painting. Your baby or pet can drive vintage cars. Your dad’s head could to be a Christmas tree topper. Perhaps your teen wants a turtle body...who knows!
To tell your story, you might want to add collage elements: newspaper articles, lettering, images of animals, party hats, crowns, astronaut suit, etc. You could even change the scenery to a jungle/beach/moon/circus OR you could simply make your photocopy into a painting. It's all good!

A Three-Hour Workshop
about the instructor
Lisa Bebi studied fine art at SDSU and abroad at the Academy of London. Her work has been featured in many local magazines and recently was considered the "Top 50 Artists To Watch" by the San Diego Contemporary Art Museum, Mingei International, and a national publication. Lisa has received numerous awards locally, regionally, and nationally and has exhibited her work in group and solo shows over the past 15 years. Lisa's painting is like jazz fusion—not so much for brushstroke work but because of the complex layers of seemingly unrelated stuff that somehow tie together. Speedy looking and details that are described more in the subject matter rather than tight brushstrokes. Recently, Lisa became one of Golden Acrylics' prestigious 138 certified artist instructors.
