the golden touch:
applying gold leaf to your art
Gold: the color of the gods and the pharaohs in ancient Egypt. For centuries, artists have used gold leafing to make their creations shimmer and shine. All it takes to make your art feel regal is a light, golden touch.
Join us as we learn how to add a unique and beautiful metallic flare to artwork!
In this workshop, artist Shirin Nikoukari shares the basics about modern applications of gold leaf and shows you how to apply it properly to your artwork.
Students will learn about materials, difference between imitation and real gold leaf, material compatibility, and the most effective way to apply gold and other metal leaf so that it will last for years to come.
This workshop includes all supplies and students will go home with their own gilded creations.
About the instructor
I started painting when I was young. I moved to the United States in my 20's and mix my Persian culture with my abstract inspirations. The pomegranate is a sacred symbol for me and often shows in my work as well as Persian Calligraphy. As I have evolved, my work has become more abstract.
