Paint in the Park:
plein air Oil Painting
Painting outside is fun and challenging, and this plein air oil painting class will teach various approaches to working on location. We will paint quick studies as well as finished pieces, with an emphasis on composition, value, and color.
Throughout the course we will discuss all aspects of plein air painting, from how to best equip yourself to how to choose subject matter. Learn to simplify, get loose and express yourself in the great outdoors.
It is helpful to have a bit of previous experience with oils, but the class is open to painters of all skill levels.

About the instructor
Marjorie combines her love of painting with her passion for travel and exploration. Painting en plein air enables her to capture the atmosphere of a place, and she feels that it brings authenticity to her work. When painting in the studio, Marjorie seeks to approach the blank canvas with the same immediacy and spontaneity found in her paintings. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Art in 1983 at Rowan University in New Jersey. Currently, Marjorie's work has been featured in the California Art Club Gallery and many more in the Southern California area. She also participated in Plein Air Invitationals and Competitions.
