A bay area figurative artist study
Take a deep dive into one of the artists from the 1950s Bay Area Movement, Nathan Oliveira, who was a figurative painter, sculptor, and printmaker.
Learn Oliveira's unique style and how to paint figures with a more abstract composition—bridge the gap between abstract and objective art!
Plus, discover how to make a simple and fun printmaking without a press.
Students will walk away from this workshop with their own Nathan Oliveira inspired painting and a monotype print.
About the instructor
I started painting when I was young. I moved to the United States in my 20's and mix my Persian culture with my abstract inspirations. The pomegranate is a sacred symbol for me and often shows in my work as well as Persian Calligraphy. As I have evolved, my work has become more abstract.
