May & June's Topic: Watercolor Brush Lettering
This 6-week class focuses on the basic brush strokes needed to gain control of brush markers and watercolor brushes to achieve brush calligraphy.
We dabble in watercolor, learning a few techniques to create simple washes and designs. Through lots of practice and completing set exercises, you'll put your strokes into practice and explore making hand lettered cards.
This class is for anyone and everyone who has an interest in lettering! We’ll be starting with the basics so we can achieve a good understanding of brush lettering techniques.
Complete beginners and lefties welcome. No experience necessary!

About the instructor
Kristen is a graphic designer, artist, and art instructor. She studied Art Education at Middle Tennessee State University because it seemed to be the most natural path: she loved art and she loved helping others. Being a part of bringing other's ideas to life and giving students confidence to move their art forward is one of her greatest joys.
Her work and styles vary across multiple mediums: from mixed media abstracts to expressive acrylics to plein air oil landscapes to modern calligraphy and hand lettering. She has been lettering since 2014 and started with large-scale paint on canvas typography which eventually led her to brush pens, ink and nib, chalk, and watercolor lettering.
