workshop info

Milagros!  [cancelled]

Picture
Join us for an art workshop with Jane LaFazio, international instructor, as she teaches you how to design your lucky milagro (heart shaped or otherwise).

With your original pattern, you'll create a hand-stitched, embellish 3 dimensional objet d'art in felt! A relaxing, soothing way to spent the day, stitching and chatting. I will demonstrate simple hand embroidery stitches, and we'll create together.

These are great for gifts!

Student Supply List:
• Felt (PurlSoHo.com has lovely color combo packets). Decide on your color scheme. I like 3 or 4 colors of fine wool felt.
•
Embroidery thread (I like size 8 or 12 variegated perle cotton thread)
•
Embroidery needles
•
Beads (make sure your needles fit through your beads)
•
Detail scissors

I'll supply:
• stuffing
•
paper for patterns
•
sequins

No experience necessary. Perfect for artists of all levels!

• No supply fee
• Attendees are encouraged to bring a sack lunch

• Student parking available in back lot

register online

NOTE: online registrations for classes will resume on Monday, June 15th.

Jane LaFazio

I am a mixed media artist working in paper and cloth. I hope to inspire you by sharing my own creativity with you, via classes, workshops and my blog. I guide students to discover that they can indeed draw, and then paint with watercolor! And with that skill comes the invaluable gift of seeing the world as an artist does, noticing detail and color and pattern and joy in life. I believe I am living the life I was meant to live, that of an artist, art teacher, and partner of my beloved husband. I support seekers along the creative path through the healing power of artistic expression, the restorative nature of play, and the freeing effects of laughter. I travel a lot, which I love! I teach a lot, which I love! I also make a lot of art ~ and you can guess that I love doing that too! When I’m not engaged in art making, I spend time with my husband (we love free outdoor concerts!) and practicing yoga a couple of times a week (I’ve been doing yoga for 11 years now.) I laugh at my kitties, Buddy and BeBop (both are now social media semi-stars, thanks to me.)
