workshop info

it's only natural:
Painting with natural & neutral textures

Picture
Look to the earth for inspiration and guidance while learning to incorporate colors and textures of the natural world into your expanding mixed-media practice.

There really is no limit to the materials available to us: dirt, sand, seeds, bark, leaves, grasses, etc. can lend texture and natural color to our work—or simply learn to mix color with the natural world as your guide! Possibilities include new forays into mosaic as well as yet-to-be-discovered assemblage exploration.

Basic materials and techniques will be covered through demonstration, guided practice, and study of established artists.

Topics covered:
  • harmony and unity through color mixing
  • using various textures with manufactured/found items
  • how to prepare substrates
  • various sealing and preservation techniques

Students will respond to prompts to launch 2-3 individual mixed-media projects.

Perfect for artists of all skill levels!

Supply List
In addition to your favorite acrylic/watercolor painting tools and materials you will also need:
