Painters of all skill levels will learn to create believable objects, scenes, or maybe a beloved pet, using the forgiving acrylic medium.
Explore composition, contrast, form and depth, using proven representational and contemporary painting methods to produce captivating works of art.
Whether you are new to a paint brush, aren't sure how to get a painting started, or are an experienced painter looking to refine skills and techniques, students will receive one-on-one instruction while enjoying the energy and excitement of the group classroom setting.

About the instructor
Chuck is a well-known, award-winning artist working in watercolor, mixed medium, acrylic, and oil paints. He is a Listed Artist and has shown in institutions like the Oceanside Museum of Art, the California Center for the Arts Escondido, the San Diego Museum of Art, and fine galleries like The San Diego Watercolor Society, Ashton Gallery in North Park, and the Adelman Gallery in Downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp.
In eleven years as a watercolorist, Chuck has garnered hundreds of awards for his paintings, earning triple Signature status with the National Watercolor Society, the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies and The San Diego Watercolor Society. He served as Third VP on the 2011 NWS Board and two years as the Member Shows Director on the SDWS Board, plus a concurrent three-year stint as Newsletter Chair on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild. His latest position was 1st Vice President on the Board of Directors of the Foothills Art Association.
Chuck is constantly doing workshops, demonstrations, and “paintformances” when he isn’t teaching and mentoring... and brings an open, fun and entertaining attitude to his paintings and classes. He is also a sought-after art show juror.
