This is not your average drawing class!

This class is a dynamic and engaging course for artists at all levels—from beginners to seasoned professionals seeking a creative boost.

Based on 'experimental' techniques from today's top art schools, students will learn to enhance their artistic capabilities and a real and tangible understanding of creativity.

You'll work on drawing techniques using a variety of mediums to start creating right away. This approach empowers you to see the world with fresh eyes, employing exciting and contemporary methods without copying others.

By the end of this course, you will have developed new skills and a renewed sense of artistic freedom. Join me to enhance your art and unleash your creativity!

Supply List:
  • Drawing paper (preferably large)
  • graphite pencils in a variety of H and B
  • vine charcoal
  • erasers (kneaded & white vinyl)
  • tracing tissue
  • blenders / stumps

About the instructor

Tracie Fearing

With over 30 years of experience, Tracie Fearing is a seasoned muralist and artist specializing in scenic botanicals with a whimsical feel. She holds a BFA in Illustration from Laguna College of Art & Design and an MA in Modern Art History and Criticism. Tracie's work is inspired by diverse influences, blending traditional techniques with contemporary flair. Aside from her artistic endeavors, Tracie has taught Visual Art at the High School level and served as an Art History professor. She actively participates in community projects, including volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. Tracie's ongoing projects span Orange County, Los Angeles, and Old Town San Diego, where she aims to create immersive experiences spark delight through her art.

Art on 30th is ADA approved in all public spaces of the building with a wheelchair accessible front entrance and a handicap parking spot in our back parking lot with a ramp that leads to our wheelchair accessible back entrance. Studios on the 2nd level are privately leased and not part of our public space; artists can apply for wheelchair accessible studio spaces on the 1st floor as part of our Coworking Studios that we offer to the public for a monthly fee  with no commitment/contract (see our Rentals page for more info).
