Color & Composition
Theme: "Bending Reality"
In the Sept/Oct session, we'll be taking a look at adjunct color schemes and learning how to "push" color through a process called "translating." Students will walk away knowing how to consistently create successful paintings using color schemes and strategies, giving their work more drama and sophistication.
In this course, students will learn new techniques each night through class demonstration, instructor critique, and peer interaction. Each session will have a new theme and you'll learn a new aspect of color as you apply it to your personal projects and class exercises.
Color is one of the most important elements in the success of your painting. It’s important to learn how to harness the power of color and use it to communicate your artistic vision.

About the instructor
Kristen is a graphic designer, an award-winning artist, and certified art instructor. She studied Art Education at Middle Tennessee State University because it seemed to be the most natural path: she loved art and she loved helping others. Being a part of bringing other's ideas to life and giving students confidence to move their art forward is one of her greatest joys. Her work and styles vary across multiple mediums: from mixed media abstracts to expressive acrylic florals to plein air oil landscapes.
