Students will enjoy exploring their creativity and self-expression by discovering how to combine different media and materials into their paintings with instructor Kirsten Francis!
The class is an opportunity to experiment with using paper, collage, stencils, paint pens, fabric, thread, found objects and more to create unique and personal artwork.
Learn new techniques and mediums through class demonstrations, seeing examples of other artists’ work and individualized guidance from the instructor. This class is perfect for those who are interested in trying new things and having fun!
Supply List (come prepared with a palette of any kind and quality paper towels, like Blue Shop Towels or Viva)

About the guest instructor
Kirsten Francis is a mixed media artist and instructor living in Encinitas, CA. She studied fine arts and figure drawing in high school, and received a BFA in Printmaking from the Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland OR. A printmaker for many years, she discovered the excitement of collage and mixed media through her children’s preschool cut and paste art projects. Working intuitively with found images and her own drawings, Kirsten creates complex, dimensional artworks that combine everyday life with the fantastical and weird.
