book it! abstract collage

Picture
Create abstract collage works using nothing but an old book! Tearing up a classic can feel like sacrilege, but destruction can engender creation. By re-purposing something worn, old and closed we can create something new, vibrant and open.

In this workshop, you will learn:
  • basic collage techniques
  • principles of composition
  • experiment with design, value, and color
  • develop unity, balance, and harmony in your art

Students will walk away with a step-by-step process for creating collage work with used books and 2-3 finished collage works.

Perfect for artists of all skill levels!

Supply List
  • 3-5 old books, to dismantle and re-purpose
  • acrylic paints (black, white and 3-5 favorite colors)
