In this NEW class, students will become familiar with entry-level drawing tools, techniques, and processes!
Learn the fundamentals of drawing: line, perspective, depth, and tonal value. You'll get to practice observational and non-representational drawing.
This class will focus mostly on the graphite techniques but will also extend to pen & ink, charcoal, and dry pastels.
Come explore the basic of drawing and why it's important to understand how we see and interpret the world through drawing!

About the instructor
Published artist and illustrator, Sammy Jean Wilson works in the realms of mixed-media illustration, fashion design, painting, and sculpture. As a graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), she has worked in Chicago, San Diego, Los Angeles, and New York assisting various artists in a variety of media. Sammy has taught workshops at National University, Platt College, and San Diego Art Institute. Her work primarily focuses on portraiture and the human form using optical effects in her paintings to convey a sense of the "unknown" with dynamic results.
