abstract landscapes Workshop
Explore the fundamentals of abstraction through the lens of landscape painting and learn to get loose with the help of sketching, reference photos, and abstraction techniques!
Together, we’ll discover how to marry abstract language with landscape painting through various drawing and painting exercises, followed by some “open studio time” where you can further experiment and explore in a more involved artwork, applying what we’ve learned.
Both sessions will carefully balances synchronous exercises, open studio time and critique. The combination of guided exercises and open studio sessions provides the structure to introduce new methodologies of creation and the freedom to explore, experiment—and play!
Students can expect to walk away with several sketches and color studies, develop preparatory paintings, and a completed small/medium landscape.
